About Us

“Our purpose is to give our customers competitive advantage”

David Douglas, Group Managing Director

EuroTech was formed in 1991 following a management buyout. However, the origins of the business date back to 1968, when a printed circuit board (PCB) factory was set up in Exmouth. PCB production has been continuous since that date. Investing in manufacturing technology and people has seen us grow into one of the UK’s leading PCB manufacturers. In 2011 we moved into our modern, purpose built factory, and we have continued to invest in the latest equipment to keep pace with the increasing technical demands of the PCB market.

In parallel to our UK facility we have established close, collaborative partnerships with a number of leading offshore PCB manufacturing companies. These established relationships facilitate significant cost benefits to our customers, combined with the increased capabilities offshore provides. Backed by the full service and support of our experienced UK customer service engineers, our offshore business has proven to be a vital solution to our customers.

We understand that most of our customers work with a ‘just in time’ production process and minimum stock holding. Should there be an interruption of offshore supply, we are able to transfer manufacturing to our UK factories. Customers recognise the benefit from this security of supply and see it as an essential aspect of our service.

We successfully support nearly 400 active customers from across the UK and mainland Europe. We strive for excellence of supply and service across the wide range of sectors that this represents, and indeed their diverse needs. Giving competitive advantage is central to our values, our customers rely on us – a responsibility we take very seriously.

Automotive and Transport

We have a long experience in supplying both the Automotive and Rail sectors.

Clearly safety in both these sectors is a key driver and hence quality of supplied product is very important.

The growth in electronics has been exponential, driving a huge need in Design For Manufacture (DFM) / New Product Introduction (NPI) and very quick lead times, ideally suited to the Eurotech strategy and model.

Volume supply from our offshore partners ( holding ISO TS16949 as appropriate) has continued to grow and be successful – therefore offering full Prototype to Volume supply solution

Aerospace and Defence

The EuroTech group has been supporting PCB manufacturing within the Defence and Aerospace market sectors for many years. We supply key European OEMs across a wide range of projects. DFM input is often part of our service package, we understand that reliability is paramount, as is flexibility in lead-times and cost control. We continually pursue excellence in these areas.

We are approved to AS9100D and offer our customers full technical and customer service support with the guarantee of fully traceable product.

The medical sector demands precision, reliability and quality, product can often be life critical, EuroTech have supplied a wide range of PCBs for many years across an increasingly diverse and complex range of products such as specialist monitoring and diagnostic equipment, lighting and defibrillators.

A broad sector with ever more demanding technical needs.

Typically supported by both our UK manufacturing facilities and off shore partners, this sector often needs the combination of DFM and QTA demand in the UK, supported with lower cost solutions from our partners often with customer specific logistic solutions.

The overall offering and performance is key, combined with flexibility within technology and base material.

We recognise that this is a very dynamic sector, constantly evolving in the pursuit off innovation and speed.

We are aware of the flexibility required in our technical capabilities and base material offering.

Eurotech supports the demand for increased layer count and signal speeds, often required on short lead times.

With the combination of our UK manufacturing and off shore partners we are often seen as the ideal suppler in this field.

By its nature a very diverse portfolio of customers and needs, both in technology and delivery requirements.

Product can vary across instrumentation, test, sensors and safety amongst many others.

Often supported by a combination of the flexibility of our UK site as well as the volume/cost ability of our off shore partners.

Customer service and bespoke logistic/delivery solutions are key to a successful partnership, the combination of which has given EuroTech significant organic growth within this sector.

EuroTech’s Vision

Our values are our guiding principles and the foundation of how we conduct our business both internally and externally. The cornerstone of our business is to operate with the highest level of integrity and transparency.

EuroTech's Heritage

Our Heritage

UK manufacture of PCB first started in Exmouth in 1968, Eurotech is proud to be a part of this tradition and has been a major presence both in the UK PCB manufacturing sector as well as increasingly in Europe. Its partnerships with off shore vendors has successfully delivered a diverse range of technologies.

Our modern, dedicated, custom built AS 9100D certified PCB production facility opened in 2011, with a manufacturing plant area of 4,000m². We have a continuing programme of investment in machinery and processes at both our production sites. EuroTech practice the principles of lean manufacturing, which advocate efficient, competitive practices that ultimately benefit our customers. We have embarked on a 2 year programme of staff training at all levels, to ensure this culture is embedded throughout our operation. All members of staff are trained in continuous improvement and hold a Lean Manufacturing qualification.

Factory visits at Eurotech

Our UK factories offer Quick TurnAround (QTA) delivery schedules on a range of volumes. We also create bespoke delivery solutions, including large volume scheduled KANBAN support (whether at our facility in Exmouth or consignment at the customer site). We take responsibility for the complete PCB supply, including ship to line.

Offshore Manufacture

EuroTech work closely with a number of offshore PCB manufacturers. Our offshore manufacturing service includes UK engineering and a UK audit of finished products including electrical testing of initial batches. We also have a European warehouse in the Netherlands to provide stock holding facilities for our customers throughout Europe. We employ a EuroTech technical team in China, rather than using an agent, to guarantee a good service. We have priority agreements with a number of our suppliers which, combined with a close working relationship and large buying power, ensure we receive excellent customer service.

All our customers’ dealings are with the EuroTech office in the UK which removes many of the traditional problems with offshore sourcing such as language and time difference barriers. Our offshore manufacturing service includes UK engineering and a full UK audit of the finished products including 100% quality inspections and electrical testing Bare Board Test (BBT). We offer a range of transport options from sea to air and a storage facility at our factory in Exmouth so that customers can order in bulk quantities to take advantage of better pricing without having to worry about storage capacity at their own facility. Stock can be called off on a scheduled or ad hoc basis and delivered the next day.
