As part of our commitment to staff training and development, EuroTech selected four colleagues to attend an Institute of Circuit Technology (ICT) course held at Chester University. Jason Turley, David Thompson, Ed White and Marcus Hole spent three and a half days learning about processes and techniques used in the design and construction of PCBs.
All four successfully completed the course, which gives them entry level to ICT Associate Membership. Each delegate received a membership certificate at the end of the course, presented by Professor Martin Goosey, a member of the ICT council.
Bill Wilkie, Technical Director at ICT said, “The course was started by the Northern UK Circuit Group in 1980 in what became the Heriot Watt Campus in Galashiels and it has been running ever since on the same time tested principles of using authorities in their field to deliver the lectures As the Industry evolved, we moved to Loughborough university. The three and a half day course has 17 lectures in one hour slots and PCB facility tours.”
The EuroTech delegates said that the course gave them a broader view of the PCB sector and a greater understanding of the complexities of PCB production. They also said it had given them the opportunity to make valuable contacts within the industry.
The ICT was established in 1974 to provide technology based training and information to PCB technologists and engineers.
